Does MRA|Revecore collect money directly from patients?
No. MRA|Revecore never collects money from patients. Instead, we help patients identify the insurance party(s) responsible for their bills. MRA researches each accident, identifies the various parties responsible for payment of medical bills, and then collects on behalf of the hospital from Property and Casualty, Worker’s Compensation carriers, and health insurance plans.
Does MRA|Revecore help me avoid MSP Compliance problems?
Yes. MRA|Revecore researches every accident to provide assurance to both the hospital and to CMS that all responsible parties have been properly billed and settled, resulting in fully compliant billing of any remaining balance to Medicare.
What is the big deal about compliance?
In addition to ensuring MSP Compliance, MRA’s proven practices ensure against improper billing of liability claims whenever a contractual relationship already exists. Without proven processes that demonstrate best efforts to identify pre-existing contractual relationships, hospitals are at risk of over-billing patients and creating exposure to harmful litigation.
How does MRA|Revecore manage on-going partnerships with customers?
Each hospital and/or health system is assigned a dedicated account manager responsible for monthly reporting, process optimization, and for serving as a single point of contact with MRA|Revecore.
Do I have to log in to your system to see the status of accident claims placed with MRA|Revecore?
No. While hospitals have direct access to each accident claim’s status through our portal, they also have real-time access to accident claim status within their own system. During implementation, a bi-directional note feed is established that enables the most recent account updates to be accessed directly from your native HIS system.
Are there any hidden costs other than your contingency fee?
No. MRA’s services are provided on a pure contingency fee basis based upon the dollars we collect from Property and Casualty, Liability, and Workers’ Compensation carriers (we also provide optional Health insurance billing for some hospitals). There are no implementation costs, lien filing costs, or any other transaction costs in our standard model.
Why should I consider outsourcing my Motor Vehicle and/or Workers’ Compensation accident claims?
While these claims typically represent less than 3% of gross revenue, they represent a disproportionately higher expense to collect due to the high level of manual processing required to get them correctly paid. The good news is, they have the potential to generate significantly higher reimbursement rates, when managed correctly.
Why shouldn’t I just bill health insurance?
You should always do your best to identify the responsible party(s) up front. While Health insurance may exist, it often pays only after a hospital has proven there are no other responsible parties. To avoid time-consuming Health denials, research must occur in advance of billing. In addition to avoiding denials, hospitals also benefit from higher reimbursement rates available from the responsible party.
Why shouldn’t I just send uninsured claims directly to my Self-Pay vendor?
You should always do your best to identify the responsible party(s) up front. While uninsured parties may not have Health insurance, they are often covered by Property and Casualty insurance or, alternatively, by Liability insurance proceeds. Instead of upsetting your patient by sending them a bill for their unplanned accident, you can often identify higher reimbursement rate payers while allowing your patient to avoid the headaches associated with the self-pay collection process.
Can MRA|Revecore provide me with an estimate of the reimbursement “lift” available?
Yes. During the information gathering process, MRA|Revecore performs a complimentary reimbursement analysis for each hospital. MRA reviews a hospital’s data file to assess past financial performance of both Motor Vehicle and Workers’ Compensation accident claims as if they were a separate financial class. We compare your hospital’s prior financial results with our aggregate historical performance, enabling us to project future financial performance, including the amount of net new reimbursement dollar expected from our solution. Throughout service delivery, our account management team continually presents our actual performance vs our projections, enabling clear and continuous measurement of our ROI.
